This babbler lives in central African mountain forests. It was formerly included with the African Hill Babbler but is now treated as a separate species.
The head is black and contrasts with the brown wings; the breast and belly are grey.
It uses dense mountain-forest undergrowth and thickets, searching close to the ground for invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
