A specimen study links the historical name Sylvia australasiae with Zosterops citrinella. This white-eye has a yellow forehead and white eye-ring and occurs on islands in the Lesser Sundas and off northeastern Australia.
The forehead and supraloral area are distinctly yellow, with a white eye-ring; the upperparts are pale olive-yellow and the pale-grey underparts become nearly white at the center of the belly.
It inhabits scrub, forest edges, primary and secondary forest, and mangroves. It forages actively from canopy to lower levels for insects and berries, often in small or mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
