This flycatcher is native to the western Caribbean islands. It has pale underparts and a thin bill. Records in Florida are treated as vagrants.
Adults have very pale, nearly white underparts, a thin bill, and limited reddish-brown on the wings and tail. The Cuba species page also summarizes the bird as mostly brown and white.
It uses forests and woodlands as well as shrublands, savannas, and thickets. Audubon classifies its movement as fluttering and hovering, but the selected sources do not give a detailed diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
