Trowbridge’s shrew tunnels through the forest litter. Its sooty back, paler underside, and long two-toned tail help distinguish it.
Its back is dark gray or sooty and its underside is paler. The long tail is dark gray above and nearly white below; winter fur is grayer than summer fur.
It eats centipedes, spiders, slugs, snails, beetles, and other insects. Captive animals showed short bouts of activity through the day, most often after dark.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
