A starling native from South Asia to the Malay Peninsula. Its crown feathers stand up, and it uses farmland, towns, and parks.
Feathers at the base of the bill stand up to form a crest. The head is black, the back dark brown, the breast and belly brown, and the bill and legs orange-yellow.
In its native range it often nests in tree cavities and occurs in pairs or groups. It eats insects, seeds, fruit, and nectar.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
