This small gymnure ranges across hills and mountains of Indochina. Records include forest-floor cover and sites beneath fallen logs.
The dorsum is brown with a yellow tinge, the underside silvery buff, and the relatively long tail is bicolored. The feet are light brown.
In northern Thailand and nearby regions it has been recorded in dense undergrowth and beneath logs. Specimen stomachs contained earthworms, snails, ants, beetles, butterfly caterpillars, and fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
