The Yellow-bellied Whistler lives in Philippine forests. It has several island subspecies with regional plumage differences, and usually searches for insects in the forest understory.
In adult birds of the nominate subspecies, the head and crown are brownish grey, the back and tail olive green, the chin and throat white, and the underside dull yellow. Other island subspecies differ in crown or back color.
It uses moist lowland and montane forest, usually foraging for insects in the understory. It sometimes joins mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
