This honeyeater lives in the mountains of New Guinea. It is grey and streaked, with a long, curved bill.
It is about 19.5 cm long. Adults have pale grey underparts with streaking and grey to rufous-brown mottling on the head and back. Juveniles are washed olive or greenish-yellow below.
In mossy montane forest, it forages from the understory to the canopy for insects, nectar, and fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
