The Northern Red-billed Hornbill has a long, curved red bill. In sub-Saharan Africa it eats fruit, insects, and small animals in savanna and woodland.
It has black markings on the back of the head, tail, and wings, with a white throat and belly. The bill is red, and the male may have yellow near its base.
It forages for invertebrates, small vertebrates, fruit, and seeds in savanna and woodland. It can form large flocks, and some parts of its range have seasonal movements.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
