A lowland forest antbird of southeastern Colombia and northwestern Brazil that searches near the ground around columns of ants.
Rufous-brown with a short crest; bluish-white bare skin around the eye is bordered by black. Females have black barring on the back and wings.
It moves through sandy lowland-forest understory and follows army-ant swarms, taking small prey flushed by the ants.
