The White-chinned Thistletail occurs in the Andes. A Bogotá bird guide describes it foraging among foliage and branches, alone or in pairs.
It has a rufous hood, back, and long graduated tail, with a white chin patch and greyish underparts that are brownish on the flanks.
It is usually solitary or in pairs and searches through foliage and branches for prey. The guide notes that it sometimes moves acrobatically and holds its tail upright when alarmed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
