The Northern Royal Albatross has a white body and back, dark upperwings, and feeds mainly on squid.
The head and body are white, sometimes with dark crown spots. The upperwings are dark, the feet pink, and the bill light pink.
It feeds mainly on squid and also some fish. Successful breeders generally nest every two years and lay one egg on a mound of soil and vegetation.
Hybridisation with southern royal albatrosses has been recorded on Enderby Island in the Auckland Islands.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
