Hopkins’ Pelomys is a small rodent recorded in southwestern Uganda. Published details of its appearance and habitat are based on a small number of specimens and their collection sites.
The three specimens in the original description had yellow-brown upper fur with a heavy black dorsal stripe. Their undersides were dark gray with ochre tones, and the tail was described as longer than the head and body together.
The original description says the specimens were trapped at the edge of papyrus swamp vegetation. This collection record does not establish the species’ diet or activity times.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
