The Mindanao shrew mouse is a Philippine rodent with dark fur and records from holes near the ground.
The original description reports no lighter underside; the limbs and tail are also uniformly dark.
During the Mt. Kitanglad survey, specimens were captured by day near ground holes beside trees or rocks. This record alone does not establish its usual activity period.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
