This blue fantail lives in lowland forest on Basilan and Mindanao. It has a blue head and long tail and feeds mostly on insects.
It has a bright blue head, blue upperparts, paler blue underparts, a blue eyebrow, a dark bill and iris, and a long tail.
It uses forest below 1,220 m and occasionally forest edges. Its diet consists almost entirely of insects, and it is often seen foraging in mixed-species groups.
