A small bird found in Australia, Tasmania, New Guinea and Pacific islands. It has a grey body, white eyebrow and throat patch, and a long tail that it often fans.
The head and upperparts are grey, with a white throat patch and narrow white markings on the eyebrow, wings and tail edges. Its long, fanned tail is distinctive.
It catches insects in mid-air and may follow people to catch insects disturbed as they walk. It builds a small cup-shaped nest bound with spider silk in a tree fork.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
