Rhipidura albogularis is listed from southern India and the northern Eastern Ghats. A 2021–2023 breeding study followed 15 nests in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Adults have a narrow white eyebrow and throat, a grey breast with white spots, and a buff belly. Juveniles are similar but have rufous spots on the wing coverts.
From 2021 to 2023, researchers followed 15 nests in Indore. Both males and females carried plant fibres and grass. The cup-shaped nests used dry grass, human hair and spider web as well, and had a tail-like base. Urban nests were in dense vegetation near buildings; rural nests were near fields.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
