The Maduran Leaf-nosed Bat occurs in eastern Java and Madura. Records describe use of lowland forest and limestone caves.
It resembles the related Hipposideros larvatus externally, but the specimens compared in the taxonomic review had a smaller skull; skull dimensions and shape help distinguish it.
It is described as insectivorous and as roosting in limestone caves, alone or in small groups. In forest it forages near its roost.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
