The southern talapoin occurs in southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo and northern Angola, south of the Congo River. It spends much of its time in riverside trees but also comes down to search for food. Its face is black, and its greenish-yellow coat is speckled with gray.
Its nose and facial skin are black, with yellow and white hairs around the face. It has large black ears, a greenish-yellow coat speckled with gray, and a white belly.
Mostly arboreal, it is most active in the morning and late afternoon. It stays close to rivers, sometimes forages on the ground, and sleeps with its group in trees along the river at night.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
