This squirrel lives in the Caribbean rainforests of Nicaragua. A study describes its breeding season and one difference between adult females and males.
Adult females were reported to have a greater cheekbone width than adult males.
Breeding was recorded from at least February through September, and the study suggests two seasonal molts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
