The Banded Martin is a swallow of sub-Saharan Africa. It catches insects in flight over open grassland and freshwater habitats and makes north-south movements in response to rainfall.
In an individual recorded in Seychelles in 2024, identification marks included a brown vent band, a small white mark above the eye, white underwings, and a square tail.
It feeds on insects caught in flight over open grassland and near freshwater. Across Africa, movements between north and south can follow rainfall.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
