An Andean swallow that searches for food over high grasslands. Its dark blue back, gray rump, and pale underside are useful marks.
The upperparts are dark blue and the rump gray. The gray throat fades to whitish underparts, and the tail is nearly square.
It forages over high-elevation puna grassland. Peru Aves reports it as uncommon over puna at elevations of 3,500 to 4,600 metres.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
