The Manchurian Reed Warbler breeds in northeastern China and the Russian Far East and migrates to Southeast Asia. A wintering study in Thailand found it mainly in mature reed beds.
Compared with similar reed warblers, it has a slightly longer bill and tail and a short, thin black eyebrow. Its behavior can also help distinguish it among reeds.
At the Thai wintering site, most birds used mature reed beds. When feeding, they were often observed climbing to the tops of tall reed stems with the tail cocked.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
