The Siberian Stonechat uses open grassland and scrub. Males change plumage between the breeding season and winter, while females and young birds are browner.
A breeding male has a dark head and back, a pale neck patch, and an orange breast. Pale feather edges make winter plumage look browner.
It drops from low perches or fences to catch insects and other small prey on the ground. It migrates between breeding and wintering areas.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
