The Emerald-spotted Wood Dove is a small, rounded dove with glossy green spots across its wings. It occurs in eastern and southern Africa.
The crown is blue-gray, and the chest and flanks are pinkish mauve. In good light, glossy wing spots can look emerald green or golden.
It is usually alone or in pairs, though several may gather at water or feeding sites. It walks on the ground for seeds and also eats berries.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
