This laughingthrush has a gray head and reddish-brown body and forms groups in damp forest.
The forehead, crown, and sides of the head are gray, shading into reddish brown on the nape. The back, tail, and visible parts of the wings are reddish brown; the chin is whitish and the underside is rufous brown.
It is noisy and gregarious, and the historical account describes it as a bird of damp, dense forest rather than village scrub or open country.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
