The northern smooth-tailed treeshrew is a small arboreal mammal ranging from eastern India into Southeast Asia. It eats fruit and small animals.
Its back is brown to blackish and its underside is lighter. Facial markings help distinguish it from the related Dendrogale melanura, and its tail darkens toward the tip.
It is predominantly arboreal. Its diet consists mostly of fruit, along with arthropods and small vertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
