The Banggai Fruit Dove occurs in Indonesia's Banggai Islands.
The Peleng population has grey coloration from the neck down the underside. Its yellow-buff breast patch is paler or absent compared with the population from another island discussed in the paper.
It uses lowland and hill forest, and birds have been observed feeding in the middle canopy and at forest edges.
