The red slender loris is a small primate endemic to Sri Lanka. A 2017 study places the species across the island's wet zone and montane areas.
It has a slender body, long limbs, large forward-facing eyes and no tail. Dark fur surrounds the eyes, and a white stripe runs from the forehead toward the nose.
It is nocturnal and spends much of its time in trees. Sri Lanka's wildlife agency describes slender lorises as moving slowly and precisely along branches and generally eating insects, small reptiles, shoots and fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
