The Orange-tufted Sunbird is an African nectar-feeding bird. A study in Cameroon’s Bamenda Highlands recorded it selecting flowers of a lobelia. A bird photographed in the Republic of the Congo was also reported as this species, but that identification was tentative.
The adult male has orange-yellow pectoral tufts, with metallic purple on the front of the neck, cheeks and chin.
In a study in Cameroon’s Bamenda Highlands, this sunbird fed on nectar from several flowers and showed a preference for Lobelia columnaris.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
