This large bat ranges from Europe into western Asia. It depends on mature forests, roosts in deciduous-tree holes, and hunts flying insects such as moths and dragonflies.
It has a robust body, broad muzzle and ears, and dense, long reddish-brown fur. Its narrow wings support fast, direct flight.
It catches moths, dragonflies, and beetles in flight. Mature deciduous woods provide tree holes it uses as roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
