This rat has a reddish-brown back, a white belly and a long, hairy tail. It lives in Borneo's highlands, where nests have been found in bamboo groves.
The back is dark reddish brown, the sides are lighter and the underside is white. Its long tail is hairy and ends in a small tuft.
It lives in highland forest and scrub, and apparently builds nests in bamboo groves. It is probably nocturnal and may use trees more than the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
