This motmot ranges from eastern Panama to northwestern South America and uses lowland forest.
It has green upperparts and warm rufous underparts, with a black eye mask and blue crown. The long tail ends in racket-shaped tips.
At lowland forest and forest edges, it may sit quietly on branches from the understory to the canopy and swing its long tail from side to side.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
