The Black-fronted Bushshrike lives in mountain forests of eastern and southern Africa. Its underparts occur in several color forms, and it sometimes joins mixed-species feeding flocks.
The underparts vary among forms, including white and pink, black and yellow, yellow and orange, or red and yellow combinations. In all forms, black extends above the bill and there is no pale eye-stripe.
It is found mainly in middle and higher parts of forest and sometimes joins mixed-species feeding flocks. Its calls include repeated bell-like notes and low rasps.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
