This tailorbird was described from a specimen collected on Mount Apo, Mindanao. The original account describes one adult of undetermined sex and notes that it was found among bushes.
The adult type had a cinnamon-colored head and neck, an olive-green back, dark brown wings edged with olive, and a bright yellow breast and belly.
The original author says the only individual of this species seen during the expedition was collected among bushes. This is one encounter and does not establish its usual behavior or diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
