The Chestnut-headed Tesia is a round, nearly tailless bird with a white eye-ring, chestnut head, and yellow throat. It searches for insects close to the ground.
It has a rounded body with a very short tail, a white eye-ring, a deep chestnut head, and a yellow throat.
It forages on the ground under cover. During the breeding season it uses wet montane and hill forest near streams; in winter it uses scrub and forest edges in lower foothills.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
