Giles's planigale is a small marsupial with a flattened triangular head. It shelters in cracks in clay soil and eats arthropods.
The upper fur is cinnamon gray and the underside olive buff. The head is flattened and triangular, with small rounded ears and a pointed snout.
It uses deep cracks in clay soils on floodplains and grasslands as shelter from temperature extremes. Its food includes spiders and insects.
It is often active around dusk and dawn. Winter reports include basking and short periods of torpor.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
