The Long-billed Honeyeater occurs on New Guinea and nearby islands. It has a long, strongly curved bill and feeds on insects, spiders, and nectar at several levels of forest.
It is about 20–30 cm long. The blackish-brown bill is long, with the distal third strongly decurved, and the eye is orange to orange-red.
It uses dense primary rainforest, tall riparian forest, and secondary growth. It feeds on insects, spiders, small lizards, and nectar, sometimes taking fruit, and forages at all forest levels.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
