The long-tailed musk shrew has a tail longer than its head and body. A survey in Gabon recorded two juveniles in lowland forest.
Two juveniles collected at Monts Doudou had head-and-body lengths of 62–66 mm and tails of 89–93 mm. Their tails were longer than their head and body.
Both animals were caught in forest pitfall traps in the 110-m zone. One was in a valley bottom on a small river’s floodplain, and the other on slightly higher, flatter ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
