The Sulawesi Lilac Kingfisher occurs on Sulawesi and Lembeh Island. It waits for prey from low branches in forest and catches invertebrates on the ground.
It is about 28 cm long, with blue-lilac ear feathers that give the bird its distinctive look.
It lives in dense forest, is active by day, and searches from the ground or low branches for invertebrates such as insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
