Planigale tealei is a small marsupial described from the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Almost all records are within the Pilbara.
The dorsal coat is greyish brown. In the diagnosis compared with P. kendricki, the ears are more densely furred and less deeply notched, and the tail is hairier with darker scales.
Most specimens were captured on cracking clay. The authors describe a preference for heavy soils and fewer records near rocky outcrops.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
