The Laysan Finch is a Hawaiian bird native to Laysan Island. Its large bill is suited to eating seeds, and males and females differ in plumage.
Both sexes have black legs and a large bill. Males have brighter yellow plumage over a larger area of the head and body than females.
Its diet includes seeds, fruits, leaves, and flowers, as well as invertebrates and carrion. It forages in small groups outside the breeding season and nests on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
