Adult males and females have different coat colors. The species is recorded in a small forest area along the border between northern Vietnam and southern China.
In the study, adult males had black hair and a brownish-orange chest. Adult females were buff to orange-buff, with a black crown stripe and a white ring of hair around the face.
Groups monitored at the Bangliang study site in Guangxi included one adult male, two adult females, and offspring. This was an observation from one site.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
