This uniformly green parakeet is endemic to the subantarctic Antipodes Islands. Its diet shifts with the seasons, and it sometimes preys on seabirds.
Its plumage is uniformly green and lacks the colored crown typical of other Cyanoramphus parakeets. It has a large bill and broad, rounded wings; males are larger than females.
Leaves dominate its diet, with seeds also important; use of flowers and berries varies by season and year.
It forages on the ground and may prey on nesting grey-backed storm-petrels just before its breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
