The Bay-breasted Cuckoo has a gray back and rusty throat and breast. It searches for small animals in forests from lowlands to mountains on Hispaniola.
The back is gray, with a rusty patch on the wings; the throat and breast are rusty, while the belly and undertail are ochre. The glossy black tail has white tips.
It prefers dry forest but is also reported in other forest habitats from lowlands to mountain tops, and eats small animal matter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
