The Hispaniolan Trogon is the only trogon on Hispaniola. It has metallic green upperparts, a gray breast, and a red belly.
Its upperparts are metallic green, its breast gray, and its belly red. The dark blue tail is strongly marked with white.
It occurs from near sea level to the island's highest peaks, although it is rare at lower elevations.
