The Short-tailed Paradigalla is a bird-of-paradise from New Guinea's mountain forests. It has a stocky black body and bright yellow bare skin on the forehead and face.
Both sexes have a stocky black body, bright yellow bare skin on the forehead and face, and light blue at the base of the lower bill. The female is described as duller and browner, with a longer tail.
It eats fruit and small animals, including insects, spiders, worms, frogs, and skinks.
The female builds a cup-shaped nest and tends it alone, sometimes reusing the same nest. Incubation lasts more than 20 days, and chicks remain in the nest for about 25 days.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
