The Chestnut-winged Babbler ranges from southern Myanmar and Thailand through the Malay Peninsula to Sumatra. It forages in small groups in the middle storey of evergreen forests.
A bluish eye-ring surrounds the eye. The back, wings, and tail are chestnut, while the face, throat, and breast are gray, paler toward the breast and flanks.
It occurs in primary and older secondary evergreen forest, as well as bamboo brakes and peat-swamp forest.
It eats insects and small fruits, usually gleaning methodically through foliage in small groups in the forest’s middle storey.
It has a thin dark bill and pale gray to gray-green legs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
