The Kadavu Fantail lives only on Kadavu Island in Fiji. A black crescent and inverted V across the chest, plus narrow white edges on the black outer tail feathers, help identify it. It moves actively along forest streams while catching insects.
A black crescent crosses the upper breast and joins an inverted V. The tail is black, with a narrow white edge on each of the two outer feathers.
It is diurnal and uses dense thickets along freshwater streams in forest. It sallies into the air for invertebrates; field observers also described it as extremely active and noted varied songs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
