The population named P. fagani is confined to the mountains of western Yemen, while sources differ on whether it is a species or a subspecies of Radde’s Accentor.
In comparison with Radde’s Accentor, the Yemen birds had a paler, greyer mid-crown and ear-coverts, and a slightly shorter wing.
The study examined one recording of this population; its basic song features were almost indistinguishable from those of Radde’s Accentor.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
